Our 9 day program gives you an excellent opportunity to get acquainted with the eco and agro potential of Azerbaijan. Having 9 climatic zones out of 11 existing in the world provides a great opportunity of having different types of agriculture in the neighboring provinces from growing apples on the North to citruses in the South. You can get away from the city to experience the farm life.

1st Day: Arrival to Baku, meeting at the airport. Transfer to the hotel, check in (14:00). Free time.

Free time suggestions if your flight is not in the evening:

  • Pedestrian Nizami (former Torgovaya) Street – old trading zone with lots of shops and boutiques
  • Fountain Square – most popular public place with many restaurants and shops, main location for public festivals, shows and celebrations
  • Park Boulevard Mall – first shopping mall in Baku
  • Baku Boulevard – a promenade established in 1909, second largest one in Europe
  • Boat trip along Baku Bay (seasonal)
  • “I love Baku” sign – place for taking photos near Heydar Aliyev Centre

2nd Day: Breakfast at the hotel. Pick-up at 09:00. Tour to Ismayilli province, Ivanovka village (3 hour drive):

12:00 Tour around one of the local farms: main farming industries in Ivanovka are beekeeping, dairy food`s production, fruit and vegetable growing, viticulture and winemaking.

14:00 Lunch in the family followed by cooking master-class of a Russian meal (Ivanovka is a pure Russian community).

16:00 You will see probably the last kolkhoz (form of farm management coming from Russian “collective farming”) on the territory of the former Soviet Union. It`s a self-sufficient community engaged in agriculture, sunflower oil production, animal husbandry and poultry farming.

17:30  Free time to rest and explore the area.

19:00  Dinner and one night homestay in Ivanovka village.

 

3rd Day: Breakfast in the family. Pick-up at 10:00. Tour to Tezekend & Basqal villages in Ismayilli province:

11:00  Brunch made of natural products in the village house of Tezekend.

12:00 There is a range of different activities in the area such as horse riding, hiking in the forest, trip to Velbine lake and fishing, planting the trees or picking the fruits (depending on the season).

14:00  Master-class in cooking qutabs at the village house. Qutab is a sort of creep with different types of stuffing, mostly it`s meat, herb or pumpkin.

15:00  Lunch with local national dishes.

16:30  Excursion to the kelagayi (national silk scarf) center in Basqal village of Ismayilli province: info-tour about the history of sericulture in the region as well as production and ornamentation of kelagayı.

20:00  Dinner and one night homestay in Gabala province.

 

4th Day: Breakfast in the family. Pick-up at 09:00. Tour to Sheki province:

11:00  Excursion to Bio Garden farm located in Oryet village of Sheki province: info-tour showing fruits, vegetables,  birds, fish and rabbits brought to Bio Garden from various regions of Azerbaijan, as well as different countries of the world; participation in fruit and vegetable picking; opportunity to buy different local agricultural products.

14:00  Lunch in Bio Garden and relocation to Sheki city (2 hour drive).

17:00 Master-class on cooking Sheki piti (aromatic stew made from meat (chicken or veal), chickpeas and mixed vegetables) and local delight Bamie will take place in a private house of Sheki.

19:00  Dinner followed by tea with Bamie and one night homestay in Sheki.

 

5th Day: Breakfast in the family. Pick-up at 09:00.

11:00  Tour to the beekeeping farm “Bal evi” (House of honey) in Lekit village of Gakh region: short lecture about ancient and modern beekeeping methods, apicultural products and beekeeping, tasting and sales of apicultural products.

13:00  Lunch in “Bal evi”.

14:00  Excursion to the Hope Lake farm: its territory is covered by fruits and vegetables, vineyards, livestock, poultry and hives and provides different activities such as feeding Aleppo goats, visiting poultry farm, fishing by the lake and so on.

16:00  Relocation to Galaderesi village of Shamakhi province (2 hour drive) and accommodation in the village house.

19:00  Dinner and one night homestay in Galaderesi.

 

6th Day: 10:00  Breakfast made of natural products in the house of Galaderesi village.

12:00  Excursion to one of the farms engaged in gardening, poultry and animal husbandry, beekeeping.

12:30  Tour to the picturesque Khalit waterfall falling from the rock with a height of 30 meters in Shahdag National Park.

16:00  Lunch in the village house followed by samovar tea.

18:00  Driving back to Baku. Overnight in the hotel.

 

7th Day: Breakfast at the hotel. Pick-up at 08:00. One day tour to Khinalig village, Gusar province (3 hour drive):

11:00  Brunch made of natural products in the village house of Khinalig.

12:00  Getting familiar with the local way of living: village house, feeding animals, cow milking master-class.

13:00  Excursion around the Khinalig village: trekking to the cave, waterfall and Kyzylkaya peak.

16:30  Lunch will include dishes typical for Khinalig village.

17:30  Excursion to the Museum of History and Ethnography in Khinalig village.

18:00  Driving back to Baku. Overnight in the hotel.

 

8th Day: Breakfast at the hotel. Pick-up at 08:00. One day tour to Lankaran province (3 hour drive):

11:00  Brunch made of natural products in “Citrus Valley” plantation located in Istisu district of Lankaran province.

12:00  Excursion to “Citrus Valley”: the owner of the farm will lecture on citrus gardening while showing around; you can take an active part in fruit picking (Oct.-Dec.) or just try (and buy) local oranges, lemons, mandarins, kiwis or feijoa as well as the jams made from these fruits.

14:30  Lunch will include dishes typical of Lankaran cuisine followed by samovar tea with jams made of citrus fruits.

16:00 Tour around “Yashil Chay” (Green Tea), one of the first tea plantations in Azerbaijan, where you can participate in  the process of tea picking (May-Oct.) followed by the lecture on different varieties of tea and culture of tea drinking of Azerbaijan.

17:00 Excursion to “Gilan” tea processing factory in Sutamurdov village of Lankaran province and specializing in the production, processing and sale of tea products.

18:00  Driving back to Baku. Overnight in the hotel.

 

9th Day: Breakfast at the hotel. Check out, transfer to the airport.

Homestay with breakfast in: Ivanovka village – 1 night, Gabala province – 1 night, Sheki city – 1 night, Galaderesi village – 1 night
